Are There Alternatives to Opiate Pain Meds.? YES!

With all the talk of the opiate drug problem, there should be talk about alternatives to the opiate pain meds. themselves. Most opiate pain meds. block the formation of an enzyme called Cox2 which is a primary driver of inflammation and pain. Amazingly there are 2 things that intervene in this pathway at the same point as these dangerous drugs and produce no side effects and 2 other interventions which block the pain/inflammation pathway at different points.

  • One is a juice from the pacific fruit Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) shown above. If you look on the NIH website you will find over 110,000 citations regarding its medicinal uses mostly for pain relief, but it has many other uses as well. Studies show that Noni interrupts the Cox2 enzyme in the primary pain/ inflammation pathway w/o any side effects. Must be organic w/o sugar.
  • The second is LLLT or Low Level Light Therapy or Cold Laser Therapy. Both Laser and LED diodes in the 670-700 nm range have been shown to dramatically reduce inflammation by restoring mitochondrial function and preventing the conversion of the COX2 enzyme pathway. Also without side effects if delivered in the right dose of around 10 Jcm2. Again, thousands of studies at PUB MED or NIH (many sponsored by or using NASA equipment) regarding their efficacy.
  • In addition to the above interventions, Specific Chiropractic Adjustments, Tumeric (500mg/day), and fish oils (4-6G/day) have all been also documented to reduce pain and inflammation generation using the same mechanism as mentioned above without side effects.
